I received a text today as follows:
"ite mate its jake this is my new number. did you have a good christmas ? isit possibleto do an hentill friday? please."
Followed by a mobile number, I suspect this some kind of mobile phone scam, so my question is, has anyone else been attacked in a similar manner? I shall delete the text unanswereed of course.

What was the number?

Sorry, I just deleted the text but didn't make a note of the number, wonder if I can retreive it?

PS That was a very quick reply!

It's difficult to see how anybody could get their hands on your money by this means. The worst it could do is establish contact with you if you were to answer. I think it's more likely to be simply a wrong number.

:) Fair enough then, I shall stay alert all the same, thanks for the answers.

To add to the above.... it is that time of year when some get a little worse for wear & fingers aren`t as accurate as they should be on the keypad.
I`d put it down to a miss dialed number & a slightly inebriated person. ???

So long as the number was not a premium rate £10 a sec.

Do such numbers exist? They certainly don't for landlines, but I don't know anything about mobile premium numbers.
