... and made themselves scarce very rapidly ::)

I didnt think cats were supposed to like cake.
Im pretty sure it would have been chas...
although someone has learnt he can now jump up there - after several attempts.
Some-one has now hopefully also learnt (the hard way) that you dont walk on a halogen hob :(

Awwww poor baby - bet he'll not do that again
-
Hopefully not.
I wasnt in the kitchen when he actually did it, but kimi said he squealed. He favoured his paw for about 10 mins then was ok.
He's been pretty good although he does mad periods in the evenings when he goes mental. ???
He also mastered the cat-flap at an early age (before he was supposed to go out really).. and he dives in and out like a rocket through it.
The other 2 are way more cautious and always look before they go through.. not bump though (who Ive started calling bubbles much to kims disgust).

When I had cats there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop them jumping up on the kitchen worktops, and there wasn't really any food that was safe from them. I just had to remember to hide everything away, or it was likely to get nibbled.
-
I must admit Im surprised that he managed to get it out of the plastic box thing - although Im assuming it mustnt have been closed quite properly.
The packaging didnt look like it had been disturbed apart from being slighly moved from one side... and the evidence is exactly as photographed, so he must have picked it up in his mouth to move it.
Considering what he'd done I would have expected a lot more mess than that.... and hence Im 99% sure it was charlie rather than the kitten.
I'm well aware not to leave anything meatish around cause that temptation would be just too much for them :D

Trying to put two and two together here.......it may be just a wild stab in the dark but here goes...........
You have found that the last muffin, wrapped in plastic packaging has been eaten. There are references to Kimi finding cats in the kitchen and saying they must have got the muffin out and eaten it. You are wondering which cat........ but have you wondered how Kimi knows so much about it and do you know where she was when the muffin theft was alleged to have occurred??
-
now thats thrown the ... errr ... cat amongst the pidgeons
-
lol
Well I would hope I brought my daughter up to have better table manners than leave all those crumbs like that.. or at least use a plate :D

I wonder if jazz knows that she's a member of the forum and might read the suggestion that she was the guilty party.

Oh dear! - looks like I might have to eat humble pie rather than a nice cake :'(
Mind you - if I had pinched a cake from the kitchen and wanted to blame the cat I would have left a bit of a mess to help my case. (Cats may be very clean and tidy creatures but even they aren't usually organised enough to tidy away plastic wrappings)
-
I wouldn't worry too much - she only pops in on the odd occasion to see if she can embarrass me :D

iirc the last muffin was kimi's anyhow - so she wasn't too chuffed about it being mawled by the cats either :-\
-
That's not funny having your muffin mauled.

Many years ago, I had two cats. They managed to open the door of the fridge one time - got a complete joint (uncooked) out of it and scoffed the whole thing!
I had to tape the door shut after that.
-
ekies if they could open the fridge door that would be a real pita - bet you never expected them to be able to do that!
-
Wow, that is some determination!!
-
I should add that we did feed them twice a day - so it wasn't as if they were starving.
What was surprising was that there was not even a scrap left behind, every bit was eaten.

I think you'd get arrested for that nowadays.
