Hi,
Having been a forum member for a bit now just like to tell you a bit about me,I'm Phil from Sheffield.Mid 50's (honest).I'm a Joiner by trade(Join anybody in a drink).I no longer am able to work due to arthritis, hence the time spent on the computer.Thats our dog on the picture,he,s called Blue and is 12,an english springer.

Phil,
A belated Welcome.
'No longer able to work', if you are comfortable not working and can manage then, to hell with it.
I took early retirement because of ill health and am feeling better than I have for years and enjoying life to the full, even with the limitations that cancer puts on it.
As you can still 'join' folks in a pint that is the main thing. :drink:
Enjoy yourself (as my mum used to say) you are a long time dead.
dave (an expat Yorky mesen) ;)

Yes, Hi Phil, and keep smiling! I retired early too (though not for health reasons), and it's been the most liberating time of my life.
-
Hi from me too Phil.
I'm semi-retired after taking a good deal with pension at 50 from BT. Unfortunately, I still need to earn some money to support two daughters (not for much longer though.) But I still manage to enjoy a rather relaxed lifestyle.

Hi Phil. Looks like this place is turning out to be a real silver surfer retirement home! (with apologies to the younger members :baby: ). I, too, retired in my early fifties to enjoy life more and it has been great - just about the best career move I've made. I have the good fortune to live in Lancashire but I've no particular skills with computers - just use one the same way I've always used my car; with no particular understanding of the details under the bonnet. I do find forums like this very informative though and have picked up quite a lot from reading here.
