Title: Sky box remote control
Post by: Achilles Last Stand on August 19, 2007, 11:52:23 AM
Anyone with Sky - do you still have your instructions for programming the remote control to your TV?

Just swapping over televisions (no not a swanky new HD, but an old unwanted Toshiba) and of course I can't find my code list so if anyone has got one, can they give me the magic number?

I'll be ever so grateful

Edit - No, ignore that already - I always do this, tear my hair out for an hour because I can't find something, give in and ask for help, then go away and find it...

Having searched the Sky site to no avail, I have just navigated the long way to a remore user manual and it's all there so - as long as it works - I'm sorted.

Phew!

Have you searched online for a manual... you can find them for most things in pdf format.

I've never bothered to try to make the Sky remote control work with the telly. For my simple brain it's easier to have a different RC for each piece of equipment, and I've currently got five of them scattered about the lounge.

We have the same problem Roseway ....the other evening I was pressing away and NOTHING was happening, just as I asked hubby for some new batteries for the telecommande, he pointed out I was using the cordless 'phone !!! ::)

Well, there is one person in our house who collects remote controls - and it's not me!

We both have a Sky one, saves fighting.  I only bother tuning it so I can use the volume control since (i) the adverts have this annoying habit of broadcasting at twice the volume of the programme and (ii) 'is lordship has an annoying habit of going to sleep and not noticing  :-X

Mind you we rarely agree on what to watch so I'm usually on the PC instead [just starting to wonder why I'm bothered, doh!  ::)]

I actually meant do a bit of googling - that's how I find manuals, but glad you got sorted. :)
