Just been reading about that. About time BT got a slap. As if anyone would believe what BT claims anyway.
Thanks TD.

Unfortunately, lots of people still do believe the headline figures. It's an issue which OFCOM should have stamped on long ago.

Hi TD,
Thanks very much for the link.
There are other facets of these advertisements which might not be immediately apparent.
BT nor most of the others do not emphasise that not all lines are under 2 km from their PCP green cabinets.
Even those that are will not all obtain anywhere near the speeds being claimed.
Out in the Surrey Hills jungle we have some D side lines of 4 km or more, some of which are very poor performers including unreliable aluminium alloy ones.
In addition the "No Universal Service Obligation" still applies so the unfortunates are still being clobbered unless and until FTTP is available.
We do have lots of pigs around here but they are unlikely to start flying with this news !
Kind regards,
Walter
(Sorry if I'm repeating ideas in another post.)

Why would OFCOM do anything?
They are not there for the likes of you and me and must have lunches with the ISP's.
