Title: DGN2000 - Flashing DGTeam Firmware.
Post by: r2d2 on July 18, 2010, 04:04:57 PM
Hi all

Could someone please guide me in the right direction.
I’ve just bought a dgn2000 and I'd like to flash it with DGTeam firmware using the Netgear dg834 recovery utility.
My problem is, I don’t know how to get the router into the recovery mode if that's the correct term?

It was easy on my old dg834gt if you inserted a pin into the reset hole on the back and turn on the power the
two lights on the front would blink and you were ready to go, the dgn2000 doesn’t have a reset hole on the rear so I’m stumped.

I really don’t want to end up with a door stop so any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think from memory that you have to press the two buttons on the side while powering up the router.

What is the next thing you need to know?

Identify the "reset buttons" on the device itself. Every manufacture will have "reset button hole" which can be hard to find. Below is various of mix manufacture phots showing the where you might find "reset button hole". Please refer to manufacture/model manual which usually indicates were you might expected.

**For NETGEAR model DGN2000 or similair model: Combination of Wireless button and WPS button on the side of the modemw will use as procedures

I have the 'locked to ISP firmware' problem.

I needed QoS from v1.1.8.0

I've found a nifty solution.

I was upgrading using DGN2000_V1.1.8.0.img and my router has V1.2.12TT (presumably TT for Talk Talk)

I renamed DGN2000_V1.1.8.0.img to DGN2000_V1.2.13TT.img and used that file to upgrade.

AND IT WORKED

Now I have 1.1.8.0 and QoS.

The old ones are the good ones!

Presumably this will work for other ISPs
