Title: Recycle For Charity.
Post by: dave.m on July 17, 2007, 04:04:22 PM
Can I ask members to help a charity and the environment when disposing of printer cartridges or old mobile phones.

As a user of a Motability car due to ill health, I appreciate what this charity does for disabled people.
I pay for my car through my Disability Living Allowance for Mobility as do all the people in the scheme but some unfortunate people need expensive modifications to the vehicles to allow them to use the car. These are partly or wholely  paid for by Motability to help with cash problems.

To help raise money for this scheme please recycle cartridges and phones. It will cost you nothing except a box or envelope.

Put your old cartridges in an envelope along with a note stating your name and address and that you would like the items recycled on behalf of Motability - Account No. 705081.

Label the envelope or box (if you have a lot)

THE RECYCLING APPEAL
FREEPOST NAT 1990
FALKIRK
FK2 9BR.

All it will cost is the envelope.
On behalf of all Motability Disabled People may I say a BIG Thank You.

Unfortunately the recycle company cannot take Epson or Epson compatable cartridges. Sorry Fudgem, you cannot help on this one. ;)

Dave, Nice thought and a thanks for the reminder.

BUT, can I point out that some if not most organisations will not take EPSON cartridges, (unfortunately).
So it may be advisable to ask them first if they take your type of cartridge, so as to save their time and yours.

I wonder what they've got against Epson.  I have about 10 waiting for me to find a charity to take them, I'll be binning them soon

Just as a secondary option although Dave's choice is excellent, most charity shops will give you pre-addressed envelopes to send them to them.

Poor old Epson,

Nobody loves them.  :( :(

Cheer up, because, although they don't shout about it, they collect their own cartridges to recycle them BUT (sorry Kitz and Fudgem) it is not a Freepost address.
