Have just seen these Flash guns at jessops reduced from £99 to £69 and there are various codes that bring the price down to £39.
It will fit Canon,Sony and Nikon cameras(you will have to check which models)

That is a good flashgun, made iirc by Cobra who are a quality and reputable manufacturer.
It may be bigger than it looks, in fact it will probably be about the same size as your Sony.
It has a guide number of 36m/iso100 making it three times as powerful as the Sony built in one........so it still wont illuminate a whole landscape, but the extra power plus the tilt and bounce head gives a lot more variation and options for closer work, portraits and near at hand stuff.
At that power and using an aperture of f4 (as an example) it would illuminate up to 9 meters away...........half again if you crank the camera iso rating up to 200.
Slap it on auto and it will adjust the output to the ambient light ( if any ) but you do have the option of reducing power if you want.
It is a good flashgun, and at that price it is a bargain.
The Sony model is code Jes360son
