Does anyone know where I can perform a WHO IS lookup of a .org domain to find out who it belongs to?

Or just open a command line window and type 'whois <address>'.

That would be in Linux of course ;)
Running XP here.

Surely Windows has the whois command as well, doesn't it?

Does not look like it.
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.
C:\Documents and Settings\NAME>whois www.bbc.co.uk
'whois' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
I use a program called "SmartWhois" http://www.tamos.com

Britbrat, you could possibly try that again.....you have a gap between who and is..........should be one word. :)

Nope :(

Well then, I'm quite surprised. :)

but my tiny little EEE PC that runs Linux came to the rescue - good tip!

With PCLos = "bash: whois: command not found"
With XP you have to install some software I think to get it to work.
