Title: 64bit Vista & Office 07
Post by: jid on September 04, 2009, 05:04:48 PM
Hi all,

I had looked this up before and apparently Office on 64bit is fine, but not perfect?

Could someone confirm if Office 07 works ok with a 64bit Vista OS.

All my other software I am planning to put on the lappy will work fine, but I am not 100% on office?

Thanks

Jamie

According to this http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/HA101668651033.aspx...it will run on 64bit Vista.

There is, however, the following proviso :-

"Note   The 2007 Microsoft Office system programs client is a 32-bit application and can run on a Windows 64-bit platform (Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista) but there may be some feature limitations as noted in the system requirements below."

Now, you will have to go and look through the menu below that note as there are so many versions of Office 2007 listed and you do not say which version you have.

I have copies of Office 07 Enterprise and Professional Plus.

(both legit and purchased from Software4Students.co.uk under a student license)

Seems there is no more info on either of them regarding 64bit but I reckon it should be fine :)

Thanks TD :D

It is most very definitely 100% fine to run Office 2007 on Vista x64. I have been running it for 2 1/2 yrs with no worries, and currently have it installed on a dozen or so machines.
