It is a long time since I printed out photos but now I have a few which I would like to do on 4 x 6inches (10x15 cms) photo cards.... my problem is I've forgotten how to load the paper :'( I know that sounds silly ::) I've had several attempts already, so before I waste any more ink I thought I'd ask. Epson Stylus D68. I know how to enter information regarding size of paper, quality of photo etc. it's actually placing the card in the printer. I've been putting the card in the narrowest width orientation, and changing the portrait/landscape accordingly, and have inserted it at the far right hand side of the printer...but I end up with half a photo :'( I've done this SO many times in the distant past, I feel an absolute idiot !!!!
What am I doing wrong please ?

What software prog are you printing in ?
What resolution is your pic.............does it match the resolution of the printer, if not have you used the "scale to fit media" command..
In you printer settings you will have a "page set up" panel something like this.
Follow the big red arrow ;D and check the box enlarge/reduce image and also output size and make sure that the correct 4x6 appears in there.

Basically you are putting the paper in the wrong way round for the setting you are using.
The portrait/landscape setting is how you want your picture to print.
So selecting landscape but putting putting the card in the narrowest width orientation, is only going to print the top half of the picture.
"Select/try Portrait and put the card in the narrowest width orientation.

I disagree, OF, I think, unless I have misread the original query. where by "narrowest width orientation" I assumed that "portrait" orientation was meant.
In all the printers I have had the paper is always put in the tray in "portrait" orientation....then the printer is told what aspect to print in.
This applies even to envelopes.

If the picture on the screen is landscape.
And you put the paper/card in in Portrait, then you tell the printer to print Landscape.
If the picture on the screen is portrait.
And you put the paper/card in in Portrait, then you tell the printer to print Portrait.
This can/could get very confusing, so basically, if one setting prints incorrectly, put the paper/card in in the opposite way. (Without altering any of the printer settings)
Personally with envelopes I always insert them in landscape, that way the roller/s have a wider area to grip with, plus the print-head has less passes to travel.

I've come a bit late to this thread, but with my Epson there is a Print Preview setting in Preferences which can be very helpful to determine which way round the paper goes, mine shows Top clearly with the image oriented as it will appear, so if you follow putting that edge shown as Top into the printer first all should be OK. I'm always using it for printing envelopes ::)
