Title: What's the difference?

Hi,

I want to know what is the difference between loading a site or web page within a browser and downloading for example a zip file using download managers or browser built-in downloader? I mean exactly the speed issues, while we know download managers download files faster.

Different net protocols are used for different types of download. A web page will use the http (or https) protocol, but a file download could use one of several different protocols, for example ftp or bittorrent. If you are with an ISP who uses traffic management, then they will probably not restrict http traffic, but they may throttle ftp or (more likely) bittorrent. Plusnet (http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadband/traffic_prioritisation.shtml) have a pretty complete description of how they manage different kinds of traffic.
