Could somebody please do me a favour, and see if the following site works with Firefox? Using FF in Linux, I just see a border with a blank centre and no content, although the proper display is shown initially before disappearing again.

Works perfectly with FF 3.0.10 running under XP Pro SP3

Hello Eric,
I have just tried the link that you supplied and it seems to work OK for me.
I'm using Firefox 3.0.10 on Windows XP.

Thanks guys. As I suspected, it's something Linux related.
-
Its fine here also, using FF3 and Windows Vista.

Thanks :)
-
Just tried it in Debian and it fails.

Thanks Tony, that confirms what I thought.

Is working fine for me on XP + FF.
However doing a check on the site shows some coding errors which may stop it displaying properly.

Thanks for that. I'll copy the W3C validator link to them.

>> Iceweasel 3.0.4 & Debian Testing
That's what I'm using (Iceweasel is just a rebranded Firefox) except that it's version 3.0.9.
I do appreciate the trouble you're going to. As you might have guessed, I've just changed energy supplier to Southern Electric, and I need to access their website to submit meter readings. For the moment I've had to use IE6 with the Wine emulator, which is a less than ideal way to do it.

Was no problem at all.
The w3 site I use a lot as I run my own pages through there, so it was a < 1 min task for me to check that one.
Generally speaking if it passes the w3 test then it should be ok in most browsers.
The other site is one I knew of.. doesnt take long to start a request off.. just takes a while for them to run all the tests and publish the results.

FWIW it works fine for me with latest stable debian lenny and real firefox - not iceweasel.
Didn't try iceweasel.

I'm embarrassed to see that I failed to report back on this. I reported the problem to Southern Electric, and they admitted that there was a problem, and gave me an alternative address which didn't use Flash (although Flash works perfectly well on my system). Since then, something has changed in the site, and it now works fine for me.
