Did you burn to CD-R or CD-RW?
Did you "close" the CD after being burnt?
How did you copy the data to be burnt i.e. did you copy from disc to disc or data from hard drive to disc.

Am I correct in assuming you were trying to burn an audio disc?
What format was the audio, MP3 or WAV?
If MP3, are your disc players capable of using this format?
Do your discs play on the computer that created them, using the same drive?

Sorry about all the questions but you did not give much information.

Some general information here regards burning and playing  that may be helpful.

Hi bully4me,

I have vista home premium as well.

I use blank C-DR's and burn them using Windows media player.Never had a problem yet.I play them on my home stero system (Sharp) and car CD player and they always play fine.

How old is is your car stero/other players.

Are you burning them as MP3 or CDA as you should be.

As stated above you need the right media and right format for many "older" drives.
This means CD-R (not RW), properly closed and in music CD format not MP3.

Many domestic DVD players support all sorts of formats - mine was only about £30 but also plays MP3's JPEG's etc.
