Title: Netgear DG834g v4 Showtime Last Retrain Reasons
Post by: Rogs on February 22, 2009, 12:32:38 PM
Hi,

This is my first post here. It's probably been ask before,  but I can't find any explanations or threads.

Since a line fault ruined my download speeds back in January, I've been monitoring my Netgear DG834g v4 with Routerstats via the Telnet option. The drop in SN Margin I was waiting for has recently happened, dropping from 15 to 12db. Hopefully there will be another one soon!

Last night, with computer switched off my router logged the errors below, with a Last retrain code of 1.  CRC, LOS, LOF, and ES were all at zero when I looked before switching off the computer. Are there any clues below as to what happened, was it perhaps a local power blip or something at the exchange? It kept the same WAN IP.

Does anyone know what the Showtime Drop reason and Last Retrain reason codes mean? What different codes are likely to be shown here?

Any help appreciated.
Rogs

I'm no expert on this subject, but it looks to me that in the hour quoted there was only one errored second, so I guess that the 450 CRC errors occurred in that second, which suggests that there was just a brief burst of noise.
