For the last week or so, access to the DGTeam site ( http://dgteam.ilbello.com/index.php ) has been blocked to many UK addresses. I don't know whether this is accidental or deliberate, but I've gone to the site forum via a proxy and posted a message asking if some IP address blocks have been accidentally blacklisted. If I get an answer I'll let you know.

I cant get to it from here either- seems like theres quite a few from the UK having similar problems :-\

In the meantime, If you want the DGTeam firmware, its mirrored at mediafire (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9d87f424360a01c8ab1eab3e9fa335ca2cff101d67561309)

Strange that my DNS lookup resolves dgteam.ibello.com to 208.178.189.131 ???
-
Ive just accessed the site via a proxy....
Noticed Waz posted yesterday about this too. It's not ISP specific.. more like their servers subnet mask is wrongly configured.
Anyone with an IP range 78.x.x.x is blocked.
I dont think theyve sussed what Waz/Tom was on about that its their server thats wrongly set up and not ISP/country specific from this side.
-
I notice from the other thread (http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=4097.msg98221#msg98221) that its now about a week since we first spotted it was down.
I saw from the post you made eric that they were thinking it was provider/ISP blocking - which it isnt!
So far the following ISPs appear to be blocked.
BT
Be
O2
ADSL24
Entanet
Firefly
Sky
TalkTalk

Anyone with an IP range 78.x.x.x is blocked.
I raised this the other day in the Be (private customer-only) forums as it affects me directly.
The opinion was that it was an incorrect subnet mask on the DGTeam host server (ilbello.com).
Someone who has access to their site should tell them - I can't.

That cant be right 208.178.189.131 belongs to Global Crossing who are Transit providers in the USA ???

I use the OpenDNS servers not the standard TalkTalk ones.

Have you just made a spelling mistake? ilbello.com

Broadstairs - can you acess the site http://dgteam.ilbello.com?
.. and can I add TalkTalk to the list?
That will be it - ibello resolves to [205.178.189.131]. Well spotted HP :)

I can connect straightaway on Plusnet
-
let's try here to do some triouts & verifies...
So far the following ISPs appear to be blocked.
BT
Be
O2
ADSL24
Entanet
Firefly
Sky
it doesn't results to me
BT, Be, O2, Sky covers the 50-60% of registered accounts
If someone has connection issues please tell if the problem is present since ever or from 1-2 weeks only...
anyway, the problem resides on ilbello.com service provider in which dgteam website resides...
-
It's just been the last 10 days or so for me. I'm on 78.xxx.xxx.xxx :(

Hi Stev-O and welcome :)
The problem started about a week or so ago. It affects many UK ISPs if the customer is on an IP range starting with 78.x.x.x and the ilbello server is blocking them.
If you have a look at this thread on your own forums
http://dgteam.ilbello.com/forum/index.php?topic=179.msg1705#msg1705
You will see that waz reported that many Be/O2 users couldn't access. and its due to the ilbello server having been set up with a wrong subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 in error.
-
Stev-O
Ive just done a quick google and som other forums are reporting the same problem
Sky - here (http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/technical-discussion/18411-dg834gt-pn-n-unofficial-firmware-dgteam-9.html#post193738)
Be/O2 - here (http://www.adsl2forum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=66507#post66507)
-
so it seems to be a routing table error...
site is hosted on 78.x.x.x subnet and they consider the traffic from these ip as internal (in other words a host immunization like 127.0.0.1 or similar)
in other words they consider Be/O2 ip as their own internal local ip....
I hope it should be only a bug from their point of view, I hope there's nothing else (blacklists, traffic limiter, etc)
I will make a notification on their own support forum, linking also this thread and the other one on skyforum
-
Very many thanks Stev-O.

Yes that seems to be about it.
Because it thinks Be/O2/Enta/BT/Sky etc as an internal local network - no traffic is coming from the 'internal IP' back via the Internet to whom is trying to view your site :'(
Thanks Stev-O.

but there is also another open topic:
http://forum.ilbello.com/supporto-hosting/i-server-sono-sempre-down/
talking about the same issues (problem with italian isp tiscali & routing...)
-
Re the thread
http://forum.ilbello.com/supporto-hosting/i-server-sono-sempre-down/
I wouldnt be too surprised if the person reporting the problem on Tiscali also had a 78.x IP range too.
That will be a huge block which affects not just UK IP ranges - from a quick & random look on RIPE, theres also several other country ISPs that will be affected too.
I hope they manage to get it sorted for you. :fingers:

It seems a subnet/routing mistake always more & more...
I don't know if problem resides on ilbello webfarm or tiscali itself
sysadmin said tiscali was the problem
we hope they can solve this issue quickly...
in the meantime you are allowed to connect via this link:

sysadmin said tiscali was the problem
Well, I'm a Be customer on the 78. range so I don't see how Tiscali comes into play.
-
I would say its ilbello and its NOT ISP related.
Reasons:-
- You can get people with the same ISP, but its only those with the 78.x IP range that are blocked
- My routing doesnt take me anywhere near Tiscalis network, yet I still cant access the site.
- The ilbello server IP is in the 78.x IP range which suggests who ever set up their server has used an incorrect subnet mask (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subnetwork).
From the following you can see the problem is occurring at the server 78.47.0.62.
There are no more physical hops after 213.239.252.41 and the problem occurs when you get to 78.47.0.62 (which is ilbello)

sysadmin said tiscali was the problem
Thats rubbish! :-\
Its nothing to do with tiscali - aside from the fact there's too many people who arent on Tiscali who are seeing this problem.
If they have set the ilbello server to 255.0.0.0 subnet instead of 255.255.255.0 (which is what most networks use), then they will be accidentally blocking every single person around the world who has an IP address that starts with 78.x.x.x
-
guys
this discussion thread has been linked on my help request on their website:
if they read these stuffs, i think they have all elements to fetch the problem and solve it
-
I'm now connected via a different IP thats not in the 78.x range. Still going through the Blackpool hub, still the same ISP, still the same routing. Only difference is Im now in the 87.x range.. and can view the site fine.
If I switch back to pick up my own IP in the 78.x range ilbello immediately becomes inaccessible to me.
As requested by Stev-O, Ive fired off an email to support at ilbello.com.
-
Sorry I have not read all of the posts on this thread, so I apologise if I'm covering old ground.
I tried the original link about an hour ago and connected using FF without any problem.
However I could not post this reply then, because I could not get back onto this site "Error with server problem or something)
-
Ive been about for the past hour or so, not noticed any problems with the site from here.
-
I don't know how long the problem lasted for, I just thought you were doing some site maintenance.
-
It seems to have been fixed in the last hour or so. ;D
-
So it does :)
-
Fixed and sorted.
Got this email
Hello Kitz,
thanks for your detailed report, I think it have helped fixing the issue.
It was the first time server rebooted, and - as you perfectly spotted -
that secondary ip address had the wront netmask.
Let me know, it should be ok now.
-
Works for me now....
-
Well done Kitz for showing them how to fix it. :)
-
I don't know how long the problem lasted for, I just thought you were doing some site maintenance.
I was doing some 'sweeping up' and clearing out a pile of old logs and spam type stuff at about that time.
I also ran the SMF 1.1.8 upgrade last night but that went through very quickly.
-
Fixed and sorted.

Hi, I am new to DGteam and cannot access the site. Is it down or is the problem accessing it still around as I am with adsl24. I am looking for the firmware for the DG834G v3
Any help would be great thanks
-
The site is working for me... I'm not sure what might be causing the issue - however your IP address is in the same range (78.x.x.x) as those who had issues before. Maybe the problem has reappeared?
I had a look on the site and here are a couple of links to download the current DG834(G) v3 firmware.
DGTeam DG834(G) v3 V4.01.40 Firmware 0849 (Mirror 1) (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=9d87f424360a01c8ab1eab3e9fa335ca58bdb2c490b446ef)
DGTeam DG834(G) v3 V4.01.40 Firmware 0849 (Mirror 2) (http://www.4shared.com/dir/9746787/1799afda/DG834_G_-V3.html)
Hope one of those works for you :)
(Disclaimer - note these are direct links to the download sites for version 0849 of the firmware only. Obviously if some time has passed since this post was made, it is likely that in the future these links will not reflect newer versions of the firmware, therefore it is advisable to check on the DGTeam website (http://dgteam.ilbello.com) to see if there are any newer versions available before downloading)
-
I'm on a 78.x range and can view the site ok from here, so I dont think its the same problem again.
-
I think it just uses a rather unreliable hosting service, and goes offline from time to time.
-
thanks for the speedy response
-
I just went on the sit this morning so whatever it was is sorted now. Strange
