I wanted to upgrade a couple of pcs which have 'b' pci wireless cards.
Currently I running Netgear MA411 - Chipset Intersil Prism 2.5
My wireless desktop pcs are all AMD based. The router is ST585 v6 (Alcatel chipset) and I use DG834G's v2 as waps (TI AR7 chipset).
In the first instance I wanted to get some idea about chipset compatibility. I note that the WMP54G uses either Broadcom chipsets for the earlier versions 1.x & 2.x. Later versions use Ralink chipsets (v3.x RT2500 & v4.x RT61).
Is anyone using the WMP54G with an AMD board without issues. I was wondering whether anyone had any ideas or opinions in respect of the Ralink (RT) chipsets.
Any info much appreciated.
