Didnt touch anything on the forums btw.. I applied a new template to the main site.
The main changes are
~ Ive added some low key google ads
~ added a donate button
~ addition of a an online store
~ all pages (aside from a couple which use some scripts) are now valid html and css.
I'll take the opportunity to mention the online shop (http://www.kitz.co.uk/shop/shop.htm) and kitz.co.uk becoming an amazon affiliate.
All the payments and shipping and customer service etc is handled by amazon and you pay the same price - but if you do buy anything from them, and go through the site store first, then the site gets a small % of how much you spend.
I'm not hiding anything and I'll be quite upfront about it (iirc its >5% depending on what you buy - up to a max commission of ?7).
I wont be recommending certain products simply because they are on there.
But thought I may as well... take the Netgear router for eg.. Ive lost count of the number of times Ive recommended the Netgear - simply because I believe it is the best router for a lot of people - and amazon do it at the best price. :)
Ive always tried to keep the site ad free yada yada - but the reasons why Ive had to do this have been outlined on this page (http://www.kitz.co.uk/sites/support.htm).
The site will probably move over to a new host early next year.
I may do a slightly different template for the forums at some point too - but not touching that right now.
I quite like the effect on the outer part of the xmas banner - but will see what I can come up with when I get time to play with a few things :)
