Title: Speed Tests
Post by: feliscatusx2 on December 08, 2006, 07:26:11 PM
Found this link http://www.camieabz.co.uk/adsl/adsltest.htm showing a number of speed testers.  I don't have Java or Flash installed so tried the ZDNet one.

I like this tester >  Your line speed:  = 2550 Kbps =312.5 K bytes/sec.

Still connected at 2272 Kbps though.

Don't get too excited by the ZDNet tester. The last time I tried it, it recorded my download speed at about ten times my connection speed. Good for the soul, no doubt, but not very accurate. :)

i find this the best way          ftp://ftp.free.fr/mirrors/download.linuxtag.org/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V5.0.1CD-2006-06-01-EN.iso  then you know exactly what your download speed is  ;D

after all this is the only download speed that really counts  ;)

Although I dont have the ZDNet one on the list (Ive used it in the past) :D

Theres a list of speedtesters on the main site, including links to linux ISOs for "real time comparisons".
