Hi Folks,
Checked today after an ISPreview article on Zen! and it's all changed my MDU is now on the map and can have Openreach supplied fibre!
So I'll be hooking up with PlusNet ditching the phone and moving into the new millennium, probably next year!
So wish me luck!

Nice!
Not sure I'd pick Zen right now, but at least you have a decent choice via OR backhaul.

dee.jay
It was only the article on Zen! Speeeeed readings never good! ;) ;)

What do you mean by that?

What do you mean by that?
My first message says I'm going with Plusnet, (Now ordered instalation 22nd!)
And the article that cause my to check for my current status was on Zen.
dee.jay response sounded as if they believed I was going with Zen!
Is that a better explanation?🤔
Regrads.
David.

Oh, you mean the article prompted you to look.
Sorry, my mistake there.

It was meant to be a play on words! :'(
HTTP = Speeeeed! ;) ;)

Speed reading what's written, people often speed read and then miss important information.

Apparently my slow reading ain't up to scratch either. ::)
I think my brain was so stuck on people complaining about Zen performance issues, it couldn't interpret any other meaning (which is why I didn't assume and asked).

Glad we got that sorted!
Well the update isn't such good news!
Engineer turned up on time! :)
Roded the pipe to the pit! :)
Managed to use the same hole for the fibre! :)
No junction box (CBT)!
No fibre in the pit!
Checked the next pit, no fibre!
So well done Opeanreach! >:(
Ticked the box and not done the job! :)
Oh well on I wait!
At least I have my bit ready now! :)
So I'm still waiting will have to see how long into the new year it takes! :(

That's not good, what are you using in the meantime as if the fibre isn't there it could be months getting this sorted.

Hi Alex,
Thankfully I have a single twisted pair hanging out of the socket!
So not quiet in the dark ages of dial up!
Regards.

Hi Folks,
Now the Netomnia map is showing completed!
Hopefully April will be switch on time, us lucky Wrexhamites! ;)
All our ships are coming home!
Won't know which way to turn!
:fingers: :fingers:
Well it is done! I'm still with Plusnet and OR but now in the 2nd Millennium!
145/28 service which is slightly cheaper than the old copper.
Strange thing is Wifi shows this speed on the 5gb service but 2.4gb is a lot slower and my wired PC is only showing 80/28! So will need to do a bit of digging! Router is an Tplink Archer VR2800. So not that modern but good enough for me.
So as they say at the end of the cartoons!
"That's All Folks!"
David
PS I'll still be lingering around!
