Looks like we have about four weeks to wait for general release.
Hopefully they will still allow local accounts and not force a Microsoft account on you as they try very hard to on the Home edition.  >:(

AI stuff will be fun I am sure. :)

I noticed its part of Office 365, so cant escape it on Windows 10.  The AI process continuously running in the background.

More modern interfaces I am guessing means more friendly for touch device type UI, so more padding, bigger UI, less options etc.  But maybe they will surprise me.

I'll be interested to see the 'more modern' interface in File Explorer as IMHO the Win 11 version is worse than the Win 10 one. Why can't they just leave stuff that works alone!

Irony is, I never found the touch improvements much of an improvement and given things like the keyboard only auto-activate when a touchscreen is detected, why couldn't they keep the old UI and only use the new one when a touchscreen is connected?

PS.  This forum is REALLY slow today.

So where is 23H2?  :-X 21H2 has passed end of servicing, leaving ONLY 22H2 supported for Home/Pro users though Enterprise users have another year.

Confusingly they are actually rolling most of this stuff into 22H2 as well.  I already saw Dynamic Lighting added to Personalisation for example.

Some stuff does seem to get back ported and perhaps not documented.

I noticed 7 taskbar tweaker misbehaving on Windows 10 21H2 after last months update, I noticed in a new build it had compatibility fixes for 22H2 (10 and 11), and after installing it, it works normally again so those changes must have been back ported to 21H2 as well.

As well as the annual updates to Windows 11,  Microsoft rollout what they call "moments" to Windows 11

I've used Windows for a very long time and every version has had its moments, or is that something different...

Windows 11 "Moments" are part of the standard cumulative updates, but rather than just providing bug fixes and security patches, these updates also bring new features to Windows 11.

They have recently released Moment 4 - hence 22H2 getting many things that you will see in 23H2

It just seems a bizarre way to be rolling things out.

From what I can gather 23H2 is basically not a real patch at all, its just a placemarker to say "this is the version we support security updates on going forwards".

Bizarre indeed, given their pretty fixed support cycle it makes no sense to not have a 23H2 available generally already.

That's the thing, 23H2 marks the support cycle resetting, rather than the actual features they have added.

Also some of the features I think are patched in but not enabled until 23H2 sets the registry values to turn them on. :/

All done, all six systems upgraded to Build 22631.2428 then updated to Build 22631.2506 without problems. Now to see if there's actually anything different....

I just updated to 23H2 about 2 hours ago and encountered a weird problem which is Edge browser can not open any website at all,, though I used it after the update completely fine but after awhile it would load white blank page.. tried other website same thing then I found that all websites I tried are working fine on Chrome, it was not blocked behind firewall and after a PC restart it worked fine again...  :shrug2:

Not spotted anything obvious so far.
But I do run all systems (a mix of Home and Pro) with local accounts; none are signed in to Microsoft which bars me from using the so-called "AI" functionality.
