Is anyone else having issues sending emails on John's (d2d4j) hosting?
I'm getting
Sending of the message failed.
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Unsupported mail BODY type. Please verify that your email address is correct in your account settings and try again.
This on three different devices and multiple mailboxes.

Send is working on webmail (Horde).

Seems to have started working again. ???

Hi Jelv
Gremlins in the platforms
The platforms do have a level of auto restart of services if detection finds a service is not responding or has stopped.
As with most things, it is not 100% perfect but covers most of issues. I do know pulsant were undertaking some 100GB link upgrades.
Many thanks

Hi Jelv
I have just seen your post and below is the only error on your email address if that is the one we are talking about. So the mail platform is waiting and received an RST on your connection
There were many other mail users using the mail platform and some on this forum at the same time you are seeing a failure
If it happens again, could you try telneting to mail platform and should see good connection
Many thanks
John

I cant send any emails at the moment - unless I use webmail.
I'm getting the same error on multiple Windows PCs using Thunderbird, using different authentication.
On my Android phone the error message includesAn error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded:
Error: open resolver; https://www.spamhaus.org/returnc/pub/172.69.173.11.
I also tried turning off WiFi on the phone so I would be sending via a Vodaphone connection in case it was an issue with my IP - same error.
I've tried using telnet and got as far as the point where it needed authentication which I didn't know how to do.
I'll PM you my IP address.

I've just sent a test message to my self, all works ok. I'm using Outlook 2019.

What are your outgoing (SMTP) server settings?

Hi
Sorry there is an issue on the mail platform for 7hi and not any issues on haveworx
Please could I ask all users who are using 7hi platform not to try to send any emails. This is a request received from Interworx support as they are looking into the issue.
For those that have seen spamhaus, this is not a RBL we use as we have found it unreliable for our needs. However, it appears rblsmtpd most likely has this listed as an RBL to check, which is why is showing the rejection via spamhaus. In reality, it is classing all IP address to block and send to rblsmtpd, which instantly and will only give a 5xx error (hard fail)
IW-devs are seeing this with their tests as well as seeing some received normally. Hence the request to not send email if you are on 7hi platform
Man thanks

Hi
The issue has now been fully resolved by IW-Devs/support and myself
All users on 7hi can now start to use email normally
As per my last post, the following is from IW (Kudos to IW, there always great and lovely people)
If anyone has any issues, please let me know or open a support ticket
All users on haveworx platform, we will be moving you over to 7hi very soon but will send emails with a time scale/date for move. All you will need to do should be to change the mail server used in email clients and it should all migrate over
Many thanks
John
Which led me to remember the weird fluke we saw before--the issue is that your server was blocking email if the IP of the *physical location* the message is being sent from is on an RBL. Not if the server it is coming from is blocked, but if the wifi IP the computer, tablet, phone, etc is using is. This is because of a qmail feature called rblsmtpd--this checks for RBL blocking before handing it over to the SMTP server.
I have no idea why it all of a sudden started caring about the physical location IP addresses on your server. Again, we've only ever seen this occur once, with one other customer, and that was over two years ago.

Now I have the opposite issue - I can't read my emails via IMAP! I can send emails but get an error when the client tries to save the copy in the Sent folder (which uses IMAP).
I think it's taken the hump with my IP as I can read emails on my phone when I turn off WiFi.

Hi Jelv
Haha very good and just replied to your ticket
You were still listed in a different service for block (imap check from cloud) so have manually removed you
If anyone else is having issues please let me know
Many thanks
