Title: So I registered my interest with Virgin Media..
Post by: dee.jay on June 08, 2022, 08:52:11 AM
But, it would have been years ago thinking - the more interest they get, the more inclined they'd want to roll out - right?

So, I sent that in and thought nothing of it. Didn't hear anything... until today. I get this e-mail: -

---

We're chuffed to hear that you'd like Virgin Media in your area.

Now that you've registered with us, you'll be the first to know when our lightning-fast broadband and amazing TV are available.

We'll keep you posted!

Thanks,
The Virgin Media team

Is this just some glitch that meant they just didn't bother to respond to my original e-mail until now?

Or is it because they now have some plans to roll out and the two match?

I dunno, just thought it was odd.

I have to agree, it is a bit odd.

Not heard anything yet here despite Virgin being very busy hooking up new ducting and cabinets to Openreach, they're clearly going to expand here using fibre but nothing officially confirmed.

Virgin are going crazy in my neck of the woods (North-East). It seems they are typically rolling out in area's that Openreach have announced and are trying to get in before them, but also in area's that OR missed in their 1st sweep last year trying to hook customers before OR go back and do areas they missed out initially.

A new build estate up the road has the choice of Virgin, Openreach and Hyperoptic all with their fibre boxes already mounted on the front walls.

Seeing Virgin works scheduled now for October in nearby villages.
