Title: FTTP engineers
Post by: Black Sheep on May 27, 2022, 08:42:09 AM
Trials are now complete whereby OR have had SKY engineers carrying out house installations, for those purchasing FTTP services.

This is on top of the additional 4,000 engineers that were recruited last year, plus an extra 4,000 this year. This will go a long way into cutting down customer dwell times and will also mean OR can focus on the more intricate stuff such as getting the cable to the customers outside wall.

I'll say it again, the FTTP infrastructure build is the 2nd largest engineering undertaking in Europe, with only HS2 surpassing it. It is an ever-changing beast.  :) :)

It's good to know more engineers are taking part, and like you say OR engineers can focus more on building the infrastructure side.

I wonder if any other ISP's would be willing do take part in the course? I know Sky have more of a cause to install FTTP, especially with their no-satellite packages slowly rolling out.
