I wonder if anyone has ever heard of this.
Fired up an old VM which was running Win 10 pro 21H1.
It alerted me to a feature update and I let it download and install, the download took about 30 seconds, the install about a minute, and it didnt even said I needed a reboot.
Rebooted anyway, from what I can tell its 21H1. Nothing here is present.

But if I select OS version on the update tab it reports 21H2 and ut shows the date it was updated to 21H1 next to it, it also has a 21H2 cumulative update available, I suspect if I let this get installed, its going to become real fun. Mixing 21H1 and 21H2 libraries together, will snapshot the VM first. :)

Looked into this a bit more and the articles showcasing the features were actually all based on pre release insider builds. Turns out these features didnt make it to 21H2 and Windows 11 got released, and Microsoft seemingly decided to make them excusive to that. Curious if they still exist on Windows 10 insider builds.
As to this mystery, it remains, as I have never seen a feature update that is no more than a few megabytes in size and just installs like a small windows update patch. The cumulative update I was going to try out to see if it broke, vanished so the system is left in its current state.
Maybe 21H2 is only a tiny update over 21H1 but could never really get info on it other than you are supposed to have 20 gigs of space free before doing the update.

Windows Update is just as much a mystery on Windows 11. I upgraded from 10 to 11 and don't see an entry for 21H2 either, I'm not even sure which one was the 10 to 11 update. They REALLY could do a better job naming these updates.
