Title: Iphone SE (original 2016?) Model
Post by: aesmith on September 21, 2021, 09:08:35 AM
Hi,
Question for anyone using the original Iphone SE, the 2016 model.  Is anyone running the latest IOS on theirs?  Mine's running 13.5.1 and there have been a few glitches since that update so I've been reluctant to move on any further.  It keeps bitching about wanting to update.

Thanks, Tony S

I have the original Iphone SE, got it a couple of years a go second hand as it was a reasonable price but still getting the latest IOS updates. I have been updating it mainly for any security fixes, I certainly don't use all the features that are provided, basically use the phone for calls at home using wi-fi calling (unlimited minutes on a cheap deal with Id Mobile), some messaging, photos and occasionally Facetime calls connected to a TV. Definitely no Social Media stuff.

Just checked it today and IOS 15 was available so updated it, looks like is is still doing what I need. :)

That should run latest iOS. However it’s quite dated and due Apple bloated iOS may be petty slow !

My 64gb se 2016 is on 14.8 and running fine, might update to 15, you don't have to, you can keep it on 14 if you want.

OK thanks.  Mine is a 32GB which makes it one of the later ones but I don't know if there was any difference other than the memory.  If I remember rightly originally the choice was 16 or 64, then later it was 32 or presumably 128. Based on what's been said here I might concede and let it upgrade to 14.x.  Fingers crossed.
