Title: Win 10 Pro Login PW Option
Post by: tiffy on February 21, 2021, 03:09:33 PM
Having just upgraded my desktp PC's from Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro have become aware of an issue regarding the ability to disable startup password login, I prefer not to enter a login PW every time the PC is started, I am the only user with no one else accessing the PC's..

Windows after install defaults to PW login and this can normally be easily changed by running netplwiz, un-ticking the PW login box and one time provision of the password, however, in both my new Win 10 Pro installs the tick-box, no password option was not displayed in the netplwiz window!
This is a known and documented issue.

Went through many suggested solutions on various forums, some quite complex, found the only one that worked for me was here:

Very simple registery change which immediatly restored the "no login PW" option to netplwiz.

Before and after fix snapshots attached:

Thanks for posting, I've added it to my Media Centre setup data, as I have that option enabled on both PC's that are used as media centres.
