Title: Webserver not accessible externally
Post by: robcos on January 17, 2021, 10:18:13 PM
My setup is the following:

Plusnet ADSL -> HG612 in Bridge Mode -> Unifi USG -> webserver

The USG forwards port 443 to the webserver which is correctly configured.
Internally, I can access my webserver through my public hostname proving that the port is correctly forwarded.

However, the webserver is not accessible externally.

I followed the instructions here
https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/235723207-UniFi-USG-UDM-Port-Forwarding-Configuration-and-Troubleshooting#4
and I don't see any traffic reaching the USG which hints at

As far as I understand, in bridge mode there is no firewall so what can I do to debug the issue? I'm lost!

This is most likely the Plusnet firewall. https://www.plus.net/member-centre/broadband/firewall

Turns out that this is not a problem with the modem nor with plusnet.
My quest for the root cause continues, see https://forums.virtualbox.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=101434 if you are curious

Thanks for the hint on the plusnet firewall. Strangely, that page is empty for me but the firewall seems to be wide open in any case which is good in my case.
