Title: 900 Mbps FTTP
Post by: Weaver on December 01, 2020, 08:47:11 PM
I would like to ask about the speeds available when FTTP is installed. I have heard 40, 80, 300 Mbps downstream and CarlT and vic0239 have iirc 900Mbps downstream.

Could someone remind me of the range of upstream and downstream speeds that are available?

Can anyone get downstream 900 Mbps? And what is the upstream ?

I've recently had BT Full Fibre 100 installed. Promises 150/30 and according to the BTW speed tester I receive 146/31 very little variation between tests. BT guarantee download will never drop below 100mb.

I have the option from BT to upgrade to the Full Fibre 900 package which offers 900/110 with a 450 guarantee, but I have no need for that sort of speed (for the moment!)

I am on 200 Mbps up/down although 1000 Mbps is available at some additional cost.

A full list of the Openreach FTTP products is available in the second table of their price list here (https://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/home/products/pricing/loadProductPriceDetails.do?data=M80QNeH46o4g6JKGD604vTypQOKfNn%2Beo6vmoVhAOBZZ6rNZujnCs99NbIKJZPD9hXYmiijxH6wrCQm97GZMyQ%3D%3D). Most ISPs only offer a subset of these, and customers on an ECI OLT can only get up to a certain tier (think it's 330/50).
