Title: Uploading large attachments
Post by: Weaver on November 22, 2020, 01:11:37 AM
Question : if you load a large attachment, and it takes forever, especially if owing to the terrible upstream speed of your ~400kbps DSL lines, does it fail if you move on and save the post before the upload has completed? I suppose that’s partly about how your web browser works? I could perhaps test this.

In the past I have often ended up with attachments of zero size and I wonder if this could be the answer? My stupidity for not checking them.

See eg https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,21545.msg413464.html#msg413464

I think it probably does fail in those circumstances. But in any case, storage space for attachments is not infinite, and it costs money to expand it, so we do ask members to try to avoid large attachments where possible.

Understood about the undesirability of large attachments.
