Title: How long does it take to reboot an edge router?
Post by: banger on October 04, 2020, 02:39:03 AM
My connection went down (PPP loss) from 01:58 to 02:02 today and I spotted that edge routers were being rebooted in the TTB network maintenance log. Might this 4 minute outage be this? My Asus log shows the router sending Chap requests but no response every 30 seconds and the response Chap Authentication failed.

As I am running Beta firmware on the RT-AC68U which seems stable I am watching like a hawk for any bugs so I can report back to the developers. Any thoughts?

Edge routers being rebooted?

I got:
Quote
Outage Description
Summary
Following a fibre break in the core network a number of sites lost connectivity to the internet at 0157. Connectivity should now be restored. Engineers are continuing investigation to ensure all traffic has rerouted correctly.

What firmware are you running, Merlin?

I've had a couple of drops around 2am recently yet nothing is showing on my Zyxel.

No Asus beta 386 RC2-5 branch.

And again around 01:46 for about 5 minutes. Dongle still working so nothing further afield.
