My wife bought me a monthly subscription to Youtube, so I get an account which gives me advert-free viewing and the ability to download videos. I download videos in the night when it’s cheap and watch them in the daytime. I’m loving it; it’s hellishly expensive though, something like £20 per month :'( but you can get a family membership thing which will allow both me and my wife to access content - can’t remember what the cost of that is, but it’s either the same as an individual account or there’s a very small additional cost.
I’ve been watching various physics lectures which infuriate my wife, but there is a wonderful variety of music so she can forgive me later.

I think of all the kitteh treats that sum of money could purchase . . . :o

And Somhairle and Beileag still howl for their kitten treats (so-called ‘Num-Nums’) regardless.

If you buy it via the Indian store it costs only £2 a month or something like that (VPN)
The £20 one you have bought sounds like you have the music included, video only might be £8 in the UK

I also love YouTube but the adverts are much more intrusive and annoying these days ...... I understand completely why you subscribed but personaly can't bring myself to pay to watch it, with the ads and the politically biased censorship by Google I feel like the door is sneaking open for a competitor (in China maybe?)

Premium is £11.99 for normal humans or £6.99 for students, I do not believe there is a video-only option.
I just don't think its worth it when it costs as much as Netflix 4K and I can already easily download videos for free using opensource tools (youtube-dl).

The price is ridiculous but my beloved urged me to go for it given that I love the lectures so much. I have about 150 lectures and other videos downloaded.

No idea how you ended up at a frankly absurd £20 a month, but I've just read in my magazine that you can get YouTube Music premium for £9.99 and upgrade to full YouTube premium for add free videos for another £2 a month.

yeah mine is £11.99pm and that is youtube premium plus the music streaming.
the family version is £17.99
youtube music premium is £9.99
so not sure where the £20 version came from.
