so we in scotland have had our covid-19 tracing app for around 2 weeks now, and currently sitting at just over 1 million downloads (i assume and hope this means 1 million active users and not just actual downloads).
give a population of just over 5 million, that's a good proportion of people using it.
17% of population are under 16
15% between 60 and 74
7% over 75
so you could argue that around 39% of population are either exempt or unlikely to be mobile users.
so i guess we'd need to clarify is the 1 million downloads, is actually active users, or 1 million people downloaded it but 950,000 have since uninstalled it.
it's that old stat that app stores like to use, they say how many people have downloaded something but never say how many active users an app has.
