Title: Three 5G Speeds
Post by: S.Stephenson on August 29, 2020, 10:04:33 PM
As someone who currently has too much free time on his hands I went to the nearest tiny patch of Three 5G coverage with my Huawei 5G CPE Pro to see how fast it was.

Now I play the waiting game for if 5G or FTTP comes first.

Three 5G at home in doors I'm about 3/4 mile away across clear fields to the transmitter - so about 3 times as fast download compared to my FTTC and only costing me £12 pm for unlimited data [corporate discount]. Not ready to use it excursively yet as I suspect it is very lightly loaded.

What is the fastest possible with 100MHz of spectrum anyway as I've seen 600mbit tests with EE who has 40MHz.

I just dont understand how Three’s let their 5G coverage be so poor I thought they were going all out considering they have loads of spectrum, but it looks like they are wasting the advantage they had.

Also I remember reading a while back they went all in on Huawei so they may be screwed.
