Title: Red crosses?

I have a 2 user set-up on my PC for my wife to work at home.
On her account, the little red crosses have appeared on her icons, not mine I add.
I remember many years ago I had this problem, but I've forgotten how to get rid.  ::)
can anyone jog my memory, please?
