Title: CityFibre duct sharing with Openreach (for FTTP)
Post by: psychopomp1 on May 28, 2020, 11:49:13 AM
Living in one of their fibre rollout cities (Inverness), CityFibre are currently rolling out FTTP in my area. When I spoke to their local delivery manager last month, he was fairly confident that they would use existing Openreach ducts when they came to my street - all Openreach kit is underground in my area. However I've just seen the following on roadworks Scotland website for my street:

Which I guess means they've decided not to use Openreach ducts after all? Houses are only 10 years or so old. Do Openreach charge a small fortune for PIA duct sharing, assuming they do charge?

Cheers

last OR engineer i spoke to said they would use OR ducts where possible but would put new ones in if necessary.

I have however learnt that most OR engineers do not have a clue what they are on about
