Mr Jansen tested positive for the virus late afternoon on Thursday and will self-isolate, as advised by Public Health England, the company said.
In a statement, Mr Jansen said: "Having felt slightly unwell I decided as a precaution to be tested. As soon as the test results were known I isolated myself at home."
Hope he makes a quick and full recovery.

Interesting. Because there was me thinking that, no matter what I wanted, it was the NHS that would decide whether I qualified to be tested.
Nevertheless, I wish him well.

I'd be utterly gobsmacked if he didn't have private health-care either paid for personally or provided as part of his employment.
The NHS probably took no part in this.
They only state he's following the advice of Public Health England.

I have PMI myself. It still remains the doctor’s decision, not mine, what tests would be appropriate. I would not expect my own insurer to have access to Coronavirus testing facilities.

This article implies tests can't be done privately, but I suppose there's always ways and means.

Without knowing his movements recently and who he's been associating with it's impossible to discern whether he merited a test.

He tested positive, so I’d say he merited the test.
I was just interested that the statement implied it was his own decision. But I’m probably nitpicking, he probably just means that his decision was to contact NHS 111 and they decided to test him, probably taking account of his movements as well as symptoms.
There’s also an argument that such captains of Industry actually should qualify for testing more easily. If he’s sick you don’t want him mingling with peers, leaving an Industry with all the captains sick at the same time.

Yup.

Seems to have had the VIP treatment from the NHS, but wish him all the best.
