Split from topic G.Fast - Band Plan Changes? - roseway
Just had G.Fast installed here; PCP is around 100-150m away via how I suspect the cable is run and have the following;
Data rate:29.399 Mbps / 159.443 Mbps
Maximum data rate:74.580 Mbps / 397.693 Mbps
Noise margin:20.9 / 19.6
Line attenuation:0.0 / 26.7
Signal attenuation:0.0 / 26.7
Unfortunately just BT smart hub to give stats but I'm quite impressed so far, especially with the maximum upload speed that seems possible!
For comparison here were my old VDSL stats (note the Huawei cabinet is on the other side of the street from the PCP and further away).

@bkehoe this noise margin: 20.9 / 19.6 are plenty of headroom for your next upgrading to 330/30 pretty easily. But, for 160/30 as it will remain there for a very long time with no issues.

I would agree that there is almost no doubt that your connection would be capable of 330/50 Mbps. Your VDSL attenuation would suggest you are probably closer to 200m. Seems like a healthy connection.
Not to sound grumpy, but I would certainly appreciate it if this discussion was split off into its own topic since discussion has nothing to do with Band Plan changes but rather it is about your install.
Cheers.
Edit: This message existed before the topic split.

Yeah guys I'm aware I could have the higher package if I wished but I've no need for it; the purpose of my post was in case anyone wanted to compare VDSL stats in case they were considering upgrading as I hadn't seen many examples. And re0, yeah VDSL cabinet is further away than the PCP/GFast cabinet.

Would make sense then. :) Both VDSL cabinet and PCP are within close proximity in my case.

Hi re0
I found my VDSL back to 2014 when my fibre went live for the first time with no one at the fibre cabinet as Openreach told me I am the first person to have FTTC live.
If these stats are the same, I might be better chance of over 330/50 on G.fast. My line attenuation was 11.3 at the time in 2014 but now at 11.9 are the probably the reason for my G.fast at 229/49
The screenshot below (top one is my VDSL stats, bottom one is re0 VDSL stats) for re0 G.fast stats at the bottom

As an update to the above, while I don't need the higher package I was recently able to get changed onto it for the same price....pity they don't unrestrict the upload! :)
Data rate:49.172 Mbps / 329.024 Mbps
Maximum data rate:74.781 Mbps / 405.053 Mbps
Noise margin:12.4 / 7.8
Line attenuation:0.0 / 26.4
Signal attenuation:0.0 / 26.4

What does your BT DSL Checker say of your G.fast estimated?

Attenuation differences due to different routers? Maybe also different filters and cables? The connection may not have changed considerably during that time, unless you've had pairs swapped at some point (which, if I recall correctly, has happened at some point).
Anyway, from what I've found, the Belkin "Hi-Speed" F3L900CP1.8MWHS cable that I bought back in 2014 seems to have one of the best Attainable and SNR despite being Cat. 5 (though it shouldn't matter since my connection can't exceed or get close to 100 MHz). I think it may even be slightly better than the cables provided with the MT992 and XMG3927-B50A. I even tried a Cat. 6 RJ11 from a eBay seller, which actually had worse SNR and attainble (though, the QLN may have looked a bit cleaner).
