Title: Worse connection after engineer visit in cabinet.
Post by: mrk26 on November 28, 2019, 04:57:12 PM
As per title, yesterday I see openreach van near my cabinet on the street and engineer definitely play with my pair as I lost connection several times. Since he finally swap my pair somewhere else I see after a day that I got a lot more crc errors (3626, before just over 200) and a lot more HEC errors (1052, before around 300), ES just over 200 and few SES, modem running for 21h. Will amount of these errors cause issue? I'm still at the moment on fastpatch and wonder if DLM will not put me back on interleave because of above errors.
Also would like to ask if and where is worth to complain about this. I understand that they connect new customer or whatever they do, but they shouldn't make existing connections worse than they are!!.

It's not clear if the work at the cabinet was to perform a pair swap for your circuit or to activate a service for another user.

It could be that there is a problem with one of the crimps, connecting the tie-cables to the D- & E-side cables, for your circuit. Movement of a cluster of tails, whilst connecting a new service, may have then caused the defective crimped joint to cause the errors so noticed.
