Title: 3db Target SNRM
Post by: Shakermaker on November 10, 2019, 03:04:24 PM
Hi Guys,

Just gone back to FTTC after going back to ADSL earlier in the year and I'm now on a Huawei cab compared to being on an ECI last time and was just wondering if all connections get the 3db snr margin as over the past couple of days I've had G.IMP applied on both down & up but had no action last night and wondering if DLM is going to leave me on a 6db target?

Current stats attached,

Thanks,

I have noticed it takes 2 days to get g.inp after a DLM reset/service provide.
Then another 2 days to get a 5dB profile.
Then another 2 days to get a 4dB profile.
Then another 2 days to get a 3dB profile, assuming your line remains stable.

As @underzone has said the decrease will be in 1dB steps. I'm not sure if it takes two days for this to start but I certainly agree that once the reduction has began there is a two day wait between each step.
There is nothing you can do to influence the process so it's just a case of being patient.

Fingers crossed that at 3am tonight DLM sorts you out!  ;D

The short answer is no, all connections don't get below 6dB SNRM targets.
It's only of the line is below certain error thresholds which we know little about.

Some lines stay at 6dB, some only go to 5dB, others to 4dB and many remain stable enough to go to 3dB.
