I was going to offer this as a contribution the the current IPv6 thread.  But to avoid drawing that thread off topic yet again, thought maybe best to start another.   Nevertheless, of interest to those in pursuit of numerically higher versions of Internet Protocol?   :)

Actually, I hadn’t, which surprises me.  Or at least, I’d forgotten.  It was only after searching for IPv8 that I stumbled upon it. :D
