Title: How long
Post by: Weaver on August 08, 2019, 12:54:15 AM
Trying to remember how long I have been a member of the kitz community now? From first lurking, then to de-lurk. It could be nearly ten years faik. I seem to remember that it was even before I left Demon (business or home/soho even earlier) and moved to AA.

Seems like a long time, but then at the same time in some respects it has also gone in a moment. Self-contradiction here is (semi-)intentional and somehow unavoidable, it seems. This decade has been pretty horrible, like the decade that preceded it. I shed a tear for the first time the other night when I noticed there was no Caoimhe curled up in the crook of my arm in bed in the late afternoon. Her loss seems to be getting worse, not better.

I was surprised when reminded recently that Burakkucat appeared later than me.

I miss some of the regulars that I used to see often back then.

It’s a shame that illness limits kitz’s own frequency of postings. Thinking about you and furries.

From your profile you registered back in November 2008:

We lost one of our cats to cancer back in May, she was only 14 (15 in October). I’m not sure the loss of a pet ever gets any less painful.

Goodness me! I never realised until now, hoe long I have been a pest member here.
You guys are really and extraordinarily patient.

Of people with the most to offer, one I would certainly chose is Black Sheep, whose post frequency has diminished over the last six or so months.

He must be a busy man. I hope that that's what it is.

It might provide some amusement to look at the information in the Statistics Centre (https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?action=stats).  :)

The Top 10 Posters, the Top Topic Starters and the Most Time Online are quite revealing.

Second what Renluop says about Black Sheep. Hope you’re keeping well Mr Sheep.

Am in agreement with Fat Jez

The Statistics Centre results from Burrakucat are quite worrying.  :-[ ???

I also noticed a fairly abrupt cessation of posts from BS, which I miss. :(

In fact, to all those whom I hope I can dare to consider friends and who have not been in touch in a while, say hello, hoping you are all well.

It appears I'm about to hit my 9 year Kitz anniversary as I registered on August 11, 2010.

We have heard from Black Sheep.

As some of you have surmised he is being kept extremely busy. Also, considering age and length of service with the company, retirement plans are being considered.

I have been authorised to pass a friendly "bleat" and "sheepish grin" to all members.

Good to hear.

I believe the phrase “youth is wasted on the young” is attributed to George Bernard Shaw.

My own corollary version is “retirement is wasted on the elderly”.   ::)

From the group delfish angle, when he has settled into retirement bliss, let's hope hid widom graces the forum once again from time to time.
