This briefing is to inform all CPs that Openreach are starting to deploy power spectral density reshaping.

We've published a briefing for CPs informing them that Openreach is starting to deploy Power Spectrum Density (PSD) reshaping following the update to the Access Network Frequency Plan (ANFP) to align this with the International Telecommunication Union's Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T).

I think the changes in the FTTC downstream PSD graphs between ANFP v6.1.1 and v7.1.2 are to allow for FTTC to use higher power within a part of the ADSL downstream range, at cabinets located a very long distance from the exchange. v7.1.2 allows for a cabinet far enough away from its exchange that it doesn't need any PSD shaping.
