Title: Vodafone Broadband Baby Jumbo support
Post by: mls2992a on July 05, 2019, 10:41:12 PM
Hi,

Just wondering if anyone on Vodafone broadband has managed to get baby jumbo frames working.

Following is the router & modem combination that I currently use

Modem: VMG8924-B10A (Running baby jumbo frames enabled firmware from this thread - https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,21273.0.html)
Router: PC Engines APU2 running Pfsense (Has MTU set on 1508 on WAN interface)

I was able to get 1500 MTU with my previous provider, John Lewis broadband but once I switched over to Vodafone, MTU is being clamped to 1492.

Code: [Select]
❯  ping -4 -M do -s 1472 google.com
PING google.com (216.58.213.14) 1472(1500) bytes of data.
ping: local error: Message too long, mtu=1492
