Title: Heavy Duty UPS
Post by: burakkucat on June 22, 2019, 09:16:16 PM
Earlier today, whilst rummaging through the various items that are available on eBay, I came across a second-hand heavy-duty UPS (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ex-British-Telecom-ECC-Diesel-3-Phase-Generator-415v-With-Paxman-Engine/133091880395) that would be just the job for the Weaving Shed, on the Isle of Skye.

If I could borrow Walter's wheelbarrow, would there be anyone willing to assist me in trundling it up north of the boarder?  :D

Wow. Thank you very much indeed. Superb.

The reason I opened my web browser up was that I was about to PM Burakkucat to talk to him about the amazing generosity of kitizens. (That is you.) And what is the first thing I see?

If later one we get any ‘it’s an island utter nonsense’ or ‘it’s the highlands racism, then I have several friends coming north the summer, one from Yorkshire and one from Perth’.

What are the required plugs in and out for the monster ups ?
I can ask Janet to take pictures. I made a custom cable that goes into the regulated output of the APC UPS, and that cable goes to a distribution block and then on to a mains filter / surge suppressor made by Belkin (aimed for Audio-Video systems).

I think Weaver could run half the island off that one, there's also a couple of others on Ebay

I suppose they could also be useful to the environmentally conscious who would like to operate an electric vehicle, but lack a suitable electricity supply close to where they park?

Ok, I’ll get my coat. ::)

So that's one for the Weaving Shed, one for sheddyian's shed and one for my grotto.  :D
