Title: Cybersecurity Knowledge Quiz
Post by: kitz on June 10, 2019, 06:21:20 PM
Just for fun, but I'm willing to bet that a fair few of us will rank in the top 1% when compared to those in a [US] national survey :)

10/10

The analysis of question 9 was frightening (public WiFi and banking): Correctly: 16%, Incorrectly: 10%, Not Sure: 73%

9/10 - I take issue with the wording of Q2.

4C, as we say to our children read question several times and make sure you understand it fully before answering, seems clear enough to me.

Are you looking at the analysis correctly? I didn't bother to do the test, but did look at the report into the results. For a start, the report is based on a survey with 13 questions, not 10. 73% got the question about public wifi and sensitive activities correct, that was the 2nd most correctly answered question.

All correct. :graduate:

I’d be a little critical of q9, about using public WiFi for sensitive activities.   In the absence of https, yes, anything sensitive is risky on public WiFi.  But it would be risky on private WiFi, too, in many circumstances, vulnerable to snoopers.

But the survey chose online banking as the example around which the question was framed.  Are there really any online banks, anywhere, at all, that allow unencrypted connections?  Surely not, and if not, was the question really helpful for public education?

Me? Bottom of the class so far. Where else would I be with 8/10? Phishing and VPN wrong.
