Title: reset fibre DLM
Post by: rico_45 on March 24, 2019, 11:57:18 AM
Any tips on how to instigate an automatic fiber DLM reset rather than have to book a BTOR fiber FTTC3 engineer only to find  that the visit has  been cancelled and auto  DLM assigned , read somewhere that powering the router off for an hour may do this ... :)

As far as I'm aware, There isn't a way to get it to reset itself. Only an engineer can reset it after a fault is found or if you are lucky, some ISPs can request a remote reset.
Edit: I think another way is to change package or ISP causes a reset also.
You could try calling the line to reduce errors to see if it would force the DLM to make a change that way.

had both of my lines regraded recently and both times i have interleaving applied for around 48 hours which i believe is a sign DLM is reset

i once needed a reset a few years ago and the engineer who was fixing a problem locally gave me his mobile, i needed another reset a while after and i gave him some beer tokens and he did it. tried again a while later and he said he was unable to unless there was a job number assigned to it.
