These aren't strictly speaking comparable lines but the 2nd line which is now Huawei used to perform worse than the first line.
Sufficed to say I'm attempting to get my primary line onto the Huawei.
Some of the improvement will be down to the ~50m reduction in line length due to how the cabinets are set up.

Interesting results.
Different modems or routers?

Sufficed to say I'm attempting to get my primary line onto the Huawei.
Change the first line to ADSL, then back to VDSL, you should hopefully be on the Huawei then.
Nice difference between the two.
-
Good improvement but if the Huwaii is a brand new cabinet it does make me wonder that when more users are on the cabinet and crosstalk is activated how much of a real difference there will be? Considering Ginp and 3db I would have expected a bigger difference perhaps they haven't kicked into action yet? Would be interesting to see if fastpath can be achieved and what the max attainable speeds are between the cabinets.
-
There will be less crosstalk on the tie pairs (a relatively short distance) with low take up on the new cabinet, but the rest of the line will be no different.

ADSL activates on the 6th with a monthly contract so i can switch.

Looking at the QLN the higher frequencies seem to show this.

Let us know what the outcome is when you switch back to VDSL :fingers:
-
Quick update im back on ADSL on the first line with a switching date back to VDSL of 22/3.
Also switched over to my Zytel VMG8924-B10A and the 3dB profile has been applied.

Am I correct in thinking this line will reach around 74 when g.inp+ 3dB kicks in.
-
I'd have estimated around that figure.
Between 72Mb - 75Mb.
-
G.inp has kicked in after 2 days

ADSL activates on the 6th with a monthly contract so i can switch.
I'm considering trying to get moved from ECI to Huawei (Installed to increase capacity). Which ISP did you use for ADSL and were there any exit fee's even though it was a monthly contract? Cheers
-
If you have a contract with your ISP you'll have to pay that.
Switching from the dsl didn't cost me anything and I did that with the no contract option with directsavetelecom.
If your dsl speeds aren't terrible then nowtv broadband would work too they also have a no contract option.
-
Thanks. My current contract ends this month so will try this route to get switched from ECI to Huawei.
-
I am afraid that your current or new ISP will be unable to influence the cabinet that you are connected to. If you change to ADSL temporarily and the ECI cabinet capacity is used up you may be lucky and get connected to the Huawei, but it is a bit of a gamble. Best of luck. :)
-
Just realised I never showed the end results of that 2nd ECI line after the switch and g.inp etc.

Nice. 17Mbps improvement!
I notice Interleave depth of 8 so possible even more :hmm:
-
I notice Interleave depth of 8 so possible even more :hmm:
Can you explain the relevance of the Interleave depth to getting more sync speed?
Any time I've had G.INP enabled my sync speed has never changed (significantly) when the Interleave depth changed between 4, 8 or 16.
-
It was last night hence the :hmm: Saw interleave depth = 8 and assumed Interleave overheads :-[
-
Just to update the forum I switched down from VDSL to ADSL and then back again to VDSL and was moved over from an ECI to a Huawei cab :)
Everything has all settled down and the speed has increased roughly from 42000 kbps to 51451 kbps !! Very happy.

Was there an improvement on the upstream?
My upstream jumped from 6.5Mb to 10.5Mb upon my DSLAM switch.
Good going. :yay:
-
No the upstream has roughly stayed the same
-
Can't fault an extra 9Mb sync, nice!
