Title: Status updating
Post by: renluop on December 09, 2018, 11:47:58 AM
Looking through the OPs, there are some long standing entries. I hope all members are careful to update   status of the item.Could something could be done system wise, after time has elapsed, to ensure updating is mandatory, I wonder?

it doesn't help that you can't update the original post and/or thread title

@chenks
Then why do I see [SOLD] or [TAKEN] against some titles?

The forum only allows you to edit your post for a limited time, I think 10 days?

If your item sells in that time then you can edit the post to reflect this. You can't 3 months later.

You can message a staff member to edit your post if need be.

is the thread title included in those 10 days?
i always thought the thread title was locked immediately and couldn't be changed.

Didn't I create a sticky post (https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,22569.0.html) which is visible up at the top?  :-X

The last sentence reads --

If assistance is required to adjust the status of an item, then a brief PM to the black cat would be appropriate.

so you can't return and update as appropiate, it requires an edit by a mod (which is what i did say in a previous post).

@Chenks https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,21971.0.html The title is now inaccurate, as one of the two items is sold.

Time limit to edit posts is 30 days.

If changes are required after a month, then a mod will be happy to change it for you.

so you can't return and update as appropiate, it requires an edit by a mod (which is what i did say in a previous post).

You can within the 30 day period yourself.  Just click on modify (https://forum.kitz.co.uk/Themes/KitzBlue/images/buttons/modify.gif) and you get the option to edit your post and the title.

What it may not always do is change topic title for posts made by others throughout the whole thread.
You can see that various posters have managed to edit the topic title themselves.  ie psychopomp, daniel, skyeci, tiffy etc
