Title: Beileag masters electronics
Post by: Weaver on November 29, 2018, 05:00:15 AM
Disaster. Beileag has learned how to turn the bedside lamp on and off - by kissing it with her nose or rubbing her cheek on it. So now she is turning it on in the middle of the night. { Ooh it came on! Stares into the light from about four inches away, as if enjoying sunbathing. Perhaps she is enjoying the heat, as it is an old fashioned filament lamp. And then, ooh, I can turn it off again! }while ( true );

Correction - Janet says the lamp is led-based, so Beileag is in fact waiting forever for someone to turn the proper sunshine heat on. She flicks magazines with her paw out of devilment - just to get attention, and used to claw a leather chair because she knows that I will then curse her, and continues clawing until a cushion comes flying in her direction. Having a giant floor to ceiling cat pole with platforms on it has stopped the chair clawing. But she is highly intelligent and when for whatever reason she just wants to be noticed then she knows how to achieve it. The lamp thing though is different because no one is looking at her when she initially turns it on as we may well all be asleep.

Luckily there is a cure. I have suggested that Janet move her mug or other obstacle, placing it exactly in the centre of the bedside table, that way, there is not room for Beileag to sit and perform the on/off ritual.

There will be when Beileag knocks the mug off.  ;)
